Daniel DeBehnke, MD, MBA is senior vice president and chief physician executive at Coker. Dr. DeBehnke brings over three decades of distinguished experience in healthcare leadership and advisory roles. He co-leads the organization’s integrated solutions. With a clinical background in Emergency Medicine, Dr. DeBehnke has held pivotal executive roles across both academic and non-academic health systems including roles as Chief Clinical Integration officer and CEO of a 1500-member multispecialty practice.
He previously served as CEO for a $1.5B academic health system with over 8,000 employees, where he led a 5-year strategic planning process, financial and operational turn-around and launched the organization on a journey to high-reliability.
Prior to joining Coker, Dr. DeBehnke served as Vice President and Chief Physician Executive at Premier Inc., where he co-led a 120-member advisory services practice focused on organizational transformations.
Dr. DeBehnke is widely recognized for his ability to drive clinical, operational, and financial transformation through trusted physician leadership and enterprise strategy. His work spans strategic planning, clinical integration, change management, and academic medicine, with a deep focus on aligning physicians and health systems to achieve measurable performance improvement.
